Rose Latte

Kayla
This Rose Latte is sweet and creamy like any traditional latte, but has delicious and subtle floral notes. The combination of a latte mixed with rose is comforting and calming. It's vegan, gluten free, refined sugar free and made with only 5 ingredients.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • ½ cup homemade cashew milk see notes for substitutions
  • 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon rose powder
  • ¼ teaspoon beetroot powder optional
  • ½ cup hot coffee

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over the stove, or in a microwave safe cup, heat the plant based milk until it's warm (about 150 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Add the rose powder and the beetroot powder to the milk. With a milk frother, mix the contents completely together, until the milk is thick and foamy.
  • Pour the milk over the hot coffee and enjoy!

Notes

  • I use homemade cashew milk. It's creamier and luscious with a subtle flavor. If you are not using a homemade milk, I highly recommend finding a plant based milk that is a barista blend (like oatsome oat milk). Or just use any other plant based milk that has a high fat content, and one that you enjoy the taste of (like coconut milk, oat milk or soy milk).
  • Beetroot powder is not completely necessary for this recipe but it does add a pink color. Rose powder has more of a purple color than a pink color.
  • For an iced rose latte, use cold coffee and ice cubes.
  • If you don't want to buy a milk frother, you could add the ingredients to the warm milk and then whisk it vigorously until well combined and foamy, or mix them using a blender.
